I am currently working on a documentary film with a research grant from The Center for Climate Change and Sustainability (3CS) at Ashoka University.
In the larger context of environmental transformations, disaster, and climate change, the documentary, set in Majuli, presents the everyday life of the rural communities on this island. It tells their stories of crisis and adaptation, loss and resilience, culture in transition, and human-nonhuman relations. Shot over a year, in different seasons, the film also highlights the geographical changes taking place on the island, thereby calling attention to the fragility and vulnerability of Majuli and similar places in the Brahmaputra River system. The film will be released by the end of 2023.
